Keepsake Furniture

Do you have a favorite drawing or design? If so, preserve it on wood furniture. A child’s artwork is precious because each drawing or painting captures a moment in his or her life.  Keepsake Furniture enables you to celebrate these moments and preserve your child’s art on decorative, useful furniture. As designer and creator of this unique process, Ms. Johnson, brings children’s art to the forefront.

The process is simple and fun.

  • Select your favorite drawings.  Any size, large or small, is acceptable.  All mediums are usable – pencil, ink, chalk, paint…
  • Pick the unfinished wood furniture of your choice.  A wide variety of styles is available: cupboards, end tables, trunks, dressers, tables, chairs, desks, as well as plaques, picture frames, breakfast trays…
  • The outline of the art is directly transferred onto the wood. No harm is done to the originals.  Colors of the original artwork are duplicated, unless you request other colors.
  • Through a unique process, the wood is colorized with translucent and colorful pigments then stabilized to a high-quality finish.
  • The result is a beautiful, useful piece of artwork and a lasting memory celebrating the imagination and energy of your child.
  • Pricing is determined by number of drawings used and cost of unfinished wood product.

Child's drawing is transfered to the cabinet

In awe, my six-year-old son walked up to the cupboard and passed his hand over the one of the drawings. "Oh Mom," he said, "these are my drawings. I did these! I love my cabinet. Thank you!"

Cabinet with drawer and shelves. "What a wonderfully fun and colorful way for me to remember and permanently mark this stage in my children’s development.” Comment from a father whose four daughters gave him the cupboard for his birthday.
Cupboard

“This cupboard is so my son, a young boy who draws a child’s whimsical pictures one day and a big boy’s warriors another.  This piece is a precious memory of that transition.”

Side table “We kept our cupboard in the middle of the living room for a week so that we could just be around it and marvel at it. We kept seeing new, neat things. We’ve had great fun as a family talking about it.”
Cupboard with no drawer. "Our cupboard is even more beautiful than I ever imagined it would be. Thank you! We just love it!"
Native American design

“My wife wanted a unique cupboard in the kitchen and she loves Native American designs.  So, I asked Connie to design one.  My wife was thrilled!  I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to top that gift.”

Hand painted picture frames
"We had great fun selecting the drawings and photos for our frames.  We even had a “photo shoot” where the kids played with different expressions to go with the artwork that we had chosen.  We let our imaginations run wild.”
Wall art with child's drawing. "This is exactly what I wanted. Now my children's favorite drawings can be hung as permanent, lovely artwork rather than on paper and cardboard stuck on the refrigerator."
